subject: Law Of Attraction: 2 Ways To Control Your Own Happiness [print this page]

When you start to listen to others, that's when you start to lose yourself. You start to falter, stop believing in yourself, and simply become who they want you to be.

Always keep in mind one thing: don't ever allow anyone to make you someone you are not. This sentence has a lot of implications, two of these are:

1.Don't ever allow anybody to rob you of your joy

2.Don't become somebody else just because you are around a certain type of person

Let's start with the first implication about not letting anyone rob you of your joy. This is something that most of us say, "That person made me so mad," or "That person hurt my feelings." But in essence, what you're doing is giving up your power to create your own reality to someone else.

On to the second implication, if you want to attract more money, start associating yourself with people who are making more money. This will help you to start adopting those characteristics. On the flip side, don't associate yourself with people who may have the characteristics you don't want to mimic.

We've all heard someone say, "That so and so is really pushing my buttons." Look at it this way: 'pushing your buttons' is no different from 'pulling your strings.' At this point you're becoming a puppet.

Don't Let Them Push Your Buttons

If someone can push your buttons and cause you to act a certain way, then you're nothing more than a puppet; they are the ones who are creating your reality. They begin to control you, shape you. But it shouldn't be that way; the thing is, you have that control.

Now, you might just be thinking that your spouse, your parents or your friends know the things that make you mad; they know the things that upset you. In a way, this is true because they really know what has upset you in the past. But you are the one choosing to let those things still upset you today.

Most of the time, it's somebody close to you who has the ability to manipulate you in that way. It could be your sibling, your boss, or any other person. Once you say this person 'pushes my buttons,' you are allowing them to create your reality; that is a very disempowering place.

For example, if you are in a good mood, but then this one person comes in, says this one thing, and he or she completely robs you of that good mood, they have controlled you.

Don't Let Them Create Your Reality

The moment you let that person come into your reality and take control, you are always on the losing end. However, when you no longer allow anyone to snatch your happiness or joy from you, then you're truly in control of your reality. You will begin to feel good and confident about yourself and your life.

Stay away from those who bring you down, and start to be happy on your own or with others who have good characteristics which you want to adopt.
