Why do you need to follow your destiny? I think that there are mainly two (or possibly three) reasons. Firstly, you should work to realise your destiny for everybody else's sake. If you do not follow your destiny your special talents will be wasted and you will not contribute to humanity and the world in the best way that you could. Everybody will miss out if you don't follow the special path that was designed for you. Secondly, you should follow your destiny for your own sake. If you don't do it, you will regret it your whole life. You will always feel like something is missing. The other possible reason is that it is simply the only right thing to do.
So what do you need to follow your destiny?
First of all you need to find out what your destiny actually is. What are you meant to do on this planet? To dare to truly ask yourself such questions you need a high self-esteem. You need to have a feeling of personal worth in order to think about what that personal worth could be used for. Ask yourself what you love doing. Activities that make you feel great in one way or another are probably the activities that you are destined to do. Another way to figure out what your destiny might be is to think about what is relatively easy for you. There are probably some things that you can do quite effortlessly while others struggle more. These are your talents. If you absolutely cannot think about anything that you are good at and that make you feel happy, you need to work on your self-esteem until you are ready to find your destiny.
Secondly, you need to believe that you CAN realise your destiny. Feeling that you have this ability requires lots of self-esteem. Whether your destiny is to lead a country or to teach young children to read, you will have to believe in your ability to achieve it. If you don't believe that you have what it takes to get it, you are not going to make it even if you think that you are trying.
Thirdly, you need to feel that you deserve to reach your destiny. This boils down to self-esteem again. If you feel that it would somehow be selfish of you to go for your dreams, or that somebody else who lives a better life should do it instead of you, then you will most likely not get anywhere near your destiny. Remember what I wrote earlier: it is selfish to not follow your destiny! You are worth it because you were born to do it.
Most importantly, you need to have the desire to follow your destiny. You have to want to do it. If you want it enough, nothing (including low self-esteem) can stop you. If you lack desire you need to figure out why. Is there perhaps some fear standing in your way? You need to clean away everything that is obscuring your desire to do what your are meant to do.
Finally, you need the specific skills involved in following your specific destiny. This is actually the least important step. If you have all the other things that I have mentioned: you know what your destiny is, you believe that you can do it, you believe that you deserve to do it, and you really want to do it, then you will easily figure out a way to acquire the skills that you need. You will find a way to learn whatever you need to learn.
