Making Rooms Seem Larger

If the rooms in your house feel small and dark then it's really quick and easy to cheat the spe by adding mirrors. By hanging these strategically you will make the room look bigger and brighter.

If the room is really smaller you can double the size and effect by adding a ceiling to floor mirror into the mix. In a room that lacks a great deal of natural daylight this is a great trick, and if you put furniture in the reflection it will create the illusion of a far bigger room.

By placing a really big mirror at right angles to a window you will effectively bounce the natural light around the room, making it seem brighter. Team this with light, bright colours to really add impact.

If you have a chimney breast then it can become the main feature of the room, so by adding a mirror in the centre it will not only allow you to see the whole room but it will stop the focal point from feeling like it's the basis of the whole room.

You can also play around with a room's proportions; by putting a mirror opposite another mirror you create a never ending feel to the room. This is great for hallways as it gives a really tiny space the illusion of being massive.

Brighten up a blank wall that needs some love by adding a group of small mirrors. Team them with some small photo frames for a really modern look.
