Today, I would like to talk a little bit about trout fishing lures. The recreational past time of trout fishing is by far the simplest fish to catch out there. Why? A trout is not the smartest of fish out there. The really don't do a whole lot. They site in their deep pool and short runs waiting on a fly or nymph to float by. Actually, one of the only things that you can do to mess up your chances at catching a trout is to scare them away by stepping right on top of them. So if you want to catch trout, don't do this! If you really want to catch some fish, and a lot of them, then be sure to listen to what I have to say. I have been trout fishing for about fifteen years now and have tested my skills all over this continent and have had success. Now I will tell you that what I about to talk about pertains mostly to trout fishing lures, not flys. I will also tell you that fly fishing is a much more efficient form of fishing if you are good at. Why you might ask? Because a trout's main source of food is a fly or a nymph. These are small insects that either float on top of the water or down below. They feed on these types of food a lot more than they do on minnows and such. The only catch is that fly fishing is a much more involve sport and requires a lot more skills. So for that very reason, I will be talking about fishing with trout lures in this post. Don't worry, you can catch a ton of fish with the lures that I am about to talk about.
First of all, I would like to tell you how I do things when it comes to catching trout. I will be honest, in Georgia; the most trout that I have ever caught on a single fishing trip was about seventy trout. I have taught others my techniques and they are having a lot of success too. The hysterical part of my success is that it is not that involved. I use one lure, I know where the fish are, and I usually get into the river with a pair of waders and a float tube. That's it people, there is no special technique and no magical formula. I wont leave out to dry like that, but it is that simple. The best way to become a better trout fisherman or fisherwoman is to simply get out there and try different things. You will eventually develop your own technique and style and catch more trout. I will tell you that I use ultra light tackle to catch trout. This is six pound line, sometimes four, and a light rod and reel. The lighter the trout fishing tackle the better. This will give better feel and control over your bait. The reason that you want to do this is because the more feel you have, the more lifelike the lure will be. The best trout fishing lure out there, in my opinion is the little cleo. This is simply a small spoon folks and it works great. So get out there and try it out and I think that you will start having some success. Good luck trout fishing! I wish you the best of luck.
