Bladder Weakness Don't Let Incontinence Change Your Life

Bladder weakness or overactive bladder is a common form of incontinence that affects both men and women. While women tend to experience this problem far more frequently then men, males tend to catch up with the experience once they hit 60. This condition by itself is not a disease but a symptom of an underlying problem (or more) that once treated typically ends the incontinence.

Understanding the causes is the first step in eliminating the problem and that of course requires an evaluation by a medical professional. One of the major problems with people who suffer from this condition is their reluctance to seek help. They often believe that this form of continence problems is something that is a natural occurrence and that they are just stuck with it for the rest of their life.

Think about that for a moment. Not only do these people have to deal with the physical discomfort that results from having wet skin and the accompanying rashes, but they have to change their lifestyle to accommodate a condition that they can't control. This condition can be a game changer.

Not being able to control urination also has a social and psychological impact as well. Persons can become depressed when they consider they can't control a basic bodily function. Because they can't control themselves they will often times become isolated from other people which leads to further depression. And the really sad part about all of this is it doesn't have to be that way.

Fortunately the world population is growing older meaning that the number of people with a continence problem is growing. Commercial interests are responding to this new market and the word on incontinence treatment is becoming widespread on mainstream media. This is changing the perception of the problem and removing the stigma that has been attached to incontinence in the past.

Bladder weakness can be treated and easily managed and there is no reason for a person to alter even an active lifestyle simply because of their incontinence.
