A setter has a very important role in Volleyball. They basically set up all of the offensive attacks that occur. A setter will almost always take the second ball, as a pose to the first and third touch being the person who makes the call (or is closest). Most teams only have one setter, although they generally train up at least one other person to be able to do the job well.
