subject: Feeling Afraid Within A Case Interview [print this page] There are and will be times when you would not even have to go in and have a case interview where it will be face to face. That may be one of the reasons why you were so nervous in the first place because you're seeing them in person, and it might be so real for you that you would never know what to expect.
All of the nervous feelings may go away when you are told a head of time that you will have one of these special types of interviews over the phone. You may be nervous but you may not be as nervous. Any interview would make you feel nervous because you're wondering what they're thinking about you and you're wondering about a whole bunch of other things.
Do not worry the whole time because the more you're worried and thinking about how the interview is going, you may be missing an important part to the question they asked you. It's very important that you pay very close attention and hang on to his every word so you will not miss anything and you will be able to answer anything they have to throw at you.
If you're having one of these over the phone, then sometimes they may have it to where you will go to a website and they will have the whole presentation over the computer. If this is the case, all you would have to do would be to is read and follow the directions. It's not as hard as you may put it out to be.
The problem with having these over the phone is that you might be chatting with other applicants as well and you may see a chat list with every ones name on it. At this point, you start to really worry because there a lot of people on the phone now and their are different time slots, so their could be hundreds of people applying for the same position you're applying for.
The good thing about this is that having so many applicants on the same line as you is you get to interact with everyone and see where everyone is from because this could be a work at home job. Your potential employer may also be on the line and hearing how you react with other people because that may be one of the things you would have to do in your new job
You can also get nervous when you're having a case interview over the phone. How some people show that they're nervous is they pace back and forth until the interview is over. This is an okay thing to do and might even calm you down but you do not want to do this when you're seeing a potential employer face to face.
