The Macbook Air is something that has kind of fallen off into the background as Apple has been so busy promoting the newer products like the iPhone and the new iPad, but they are now giving away a free Macbook Air to a lot of people in an attempt to get sales going on this very nice and revolutionary laptop. The reason the Mac Air has slipped into obscurity is really beyond me, it is ultra thin, ultra portable, and weighs in at an astounding three pounds! When you pick it up it is really amazing, it is so light and thin.

The Macbook air comes standard with either a 1.8 Gig or a 2.1 Gig Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, which makes this thing lightning fast! It also comes standard with 2 Gigs of RAM and a 120 Gigabyte solid state hard drive too. The battery lasts 5 hours and it has that cool magnet connector system so when you have it plugged in and you trip over the cord, it just unplugs, so you can't pull the computer off the desk or table, it is so simple yet a really nice feature. The Macbook air has a full sized keyboard that is back lit and automatically adjusts the keyboard and screen brightness using an ambient light sensor. It is also built with the environment in mind using parts that are recyclable and it meets energy-star requirements.

So why would Apply give anybody a free Mac Air? That is a great question. I'm not sure if you have heard of the term product "stickiness" before, but Apple has a very high degree of stickiness. Basically, it means that once you start using one of their products, you stick with it, and the next time you need a laptop, desktop, or phone, you have a high degree of likelihood that you will stick with Apple products. That is really it, once they get you into the whole Apple world, they will likely have you for life.

To get free product like this, you usually just have to give your email address and answer a few questions. It basically just expands there database of people they can market too by email and sometimes phone. It is definitely worth checking out though, that's for sure.
