I would like to take this opportunity to thank Netflix for delivering a wonderful service. With so many complaints and grievances over modern technology, it is nice to have something that works correctly. I am late to try the Netflix service but I finally gave it a go. The movie selections are just fine and you can find something you have not seen before. But what really impresses me is the instant queue with live streaming. At present costs, for a mere nine (9) dollars USD a month you can have unlimited streaming to your laptop/desktop/hdmi/serial port television. Netflix offers a wide variety of Showtime and HBO series as well as a decent movie selection. When you compare this to the cost of purchasing all of these series and movies on your own, it really is a no-brainer. Although you may have to suffer through the occassional time delay or having to refresh your show from time to time, it is still by and far well worth it. So thank you Netflix for a great service that is fun to use and light on the pocketbook.
TECH TIP:
One laptop-to-TV-setup configuration I use is HDMI port. You will need to purchase an HDMI cord if you do not already possess one. Once you have your cord available, plug the HDMIport into the laptop/desktop and the HDMI into your television. Then on a blank desktop screen, right click, personalize, select display settings on Windows, If the cord and computer recognize the connection, you should be able to see your TV as a second monitor and select the screen settings you desire. Once this is done, open a fresh browser window, go to Netflix.com and select your movie. Make sure the browser window is medium sized so that you can drag the entire window onto your TV which is recognized as the second monitor. Then, VIOLA! you can stream to your Big Screen and/or plasma TV. Enjoy!
