Patriotism
Patriotism

The word patriotism indicates a sense of belonging and loyalty to one's nation. Undoubtedly this sense may or may not be present in all citizens residing within the boundary walls of a country. However for some this sense of belonging may be strong while for others it may not be so strong. Like two sides of a coin patriotism could be viewed by many as a unifying factor or an indirect cause of war. This paper represents these sides and argues that it should be a unifying factor which holds people together while rejecting the notion of war.

The feeling of being loyal also helps people do better not just for themselves but for the overall welfare of their nation. This means that when citizens stand united their derive results that have wider positive impacts. On the other hand for those who have a stronger sense this could also be taken to mean joining civil service like army. Clearly this is not about instilling the notion of war amongst youth to join the army but to rather stand united for all citizens.

In my view this is the true meaning of being a patriot and working for the development of the nation. This feeling like the universal emotion of love should be constant and never-ending. Said in another way this is not about changing feelings for one's nation.

There are no hundred reasons to stay why patriotism is not an indirect cause of war but one clear stance to say that it is a unifying factor. And that one reason is standing together for well-being in every sense. The question now is would you be willing to stand up for development and progress?
