Universal Skirts- Casual Wear With a Twist

This upcoming spring and summer is going to be full of bubble skirts and long length skirts. Now, if you are thinking you are too short to take advantage of these trends, you couldn't be more wrong. The great thing about choosing a skirt that is universal is that there are so many different styles and patterns out there that each of them compliments different aspects of every figure. Women's casual wear is not what it used to be; now you can be casual and look phenomenal at the same time!

First, for those of you out there who are not quite sure what a bubble skirt is, let me explain. A bubble skirt is yet another blast from the past in our fashion industry today. It generally has a wide waistband and many different fabric layers to it that bubble out and then tapper back in to a tight band at the bottom. It may not sound fabulous but it most certainly is once you put it on. The key to a bubble skirt is choosing the right one that flatters your particular strong points and minimalizes your flaws. Many people tend to stay away from bubble skirts because they feel they are unflattering but this is just not the case when you take the time to find that perfect one.

By choosing a bubble skirt with a wide waistband you are choosing to create a slimming look whether you are in fact slim or not. This is what creates the illusion of a curvy body. Next, you want to take a close look at how the fabric hangs from this waistband. It is true that some bubble skirts don't lay quite right or even stick out and this is what you want to avoid. The type of material it is made of can be part of this problem and should be considered. The stiffer the material the more likely it is to stick out, instead of lay flat.

For shorter women, a length that ends just above the knees is perfect. This will create the illusion of longer legs and not cut off the body into sections by being too long or too short. On the other hand if you are not a fan of short skirts, the longer bubble skirts are just as flattering when worn with heels or flats if you are already taller. A long length bubble skirt is generally not as bold as a short bubble skirt but the fashion trend is still present.

When paired with a casual top or cropped jacket you have completed a great holiday look or office look for that matter! A bubble skirt is an extremely universal look and one that can be worn casually or formally depending on your needs. Don't eliminate this skirt from your shopping list just because you're looking for casual wear, keep an open mind and you will see just how versatile this fashion trend can be.
