The economic news only gets worse. The tiny recovery we experienced is over as the federal stimulus monies run dry. We are likely headed for a double-dip recession, or even worse, another depression. You can not have a true economic recovery without a jobs recovery. And, this is precisely what's happening.
Jobs fuel the economy by giving Americans money to spend which drives the economy: No jobs, no good. So many Americans are out of work, and many will be for a long, long time. Many more will never find a job again. That's how bad it is.
So, we've established how harrowing things really are. They are nothing short of devastating. Okay, so what are we going to do about it? That's about all that matters now. How can each of us take control of our ever-escalating-out-of-control-lives?
I guess the best way to start is to let you know what I'm doing. First, there will always be opportunities. You just have to find them. Not easy to be sure. But oh-so-doable. I am the co-owner of an online business. I believe the Internet is thee place to be. And, even if it isn't, it's what turns me on the most. Taking a stand and being proactive helps ward off the feelings of despair and hopelessness. The heck with that, I'm in the game, and that's all there is to it.
I'm into spending little or no money to get involved in a business. And, although my two partners and I have coughed up some start-up capital (a pittance really), our members will never have to. We are taking an old business model, namely online auctions and classified advertising, and turning it on its head. We know we are up against long odds of success because this field is so competitive. We're not trying to do battle with the giants, rather, just being willing to give most of our profits back to our members. Our goal is to become the most generous business on the Net, not only in allowing our members to post free ads and auction listings, but also in providing the highest-yielding affiliate program available today. All at no cost.
Whatever you do, do not allow desperation to cause you to make risky decisions. Get something going without spending a dime and just see what happens. When unprecedented economic events turn on us all, we must be willing to fight for our very survival. You can turn depression, both economic and otherwise, on its head by creating your own job and your own income right at home. I never said it would be easy or quick, but I am saying it is completely within your realm of possibility.
