Holiday Shopping Safety Guide 2010

Home security during the holiday season is a given in this day an age. With trips to Grandma and Grandpas and shopping excursions more and more people are leaving their homes for longer periods of time. What you might not know is that personal safety while shopping and traveling is as important if not more so. We here at ProtectUsFrom.com have come up with a list of helpful safety tips to keep you and your gifts safe during this holiday season.

Try not carry large amounts of cash. Use credit cards or debit cards instead. Even Travelers Checks would be better to use. You can always stop a credit card. You cant stop cash! Also keep your purse and or wallet hidden at all times.

Men if you use a wallet try to keep it in your front pocket. It's a lot harder for pick pockets to get at it.

Women do not leave your purse on the seat next to you. Even when driving.

When you do park make sure all your items are concealed before you leave the car. Windows rolled up! Conceal your items preferably in the trunk. Never wait until you reach the next shopping spot to hide your items.

When you first get to the car take a moment to look around at your surroundings. Check the front and back of your vehicle before getting in.

For those driving Mini Vans and SUVs try to wait until you are done shopping all together before you put all your gifts in the car.

Make sure you have your ProtectUsFrom.com stun gun and or pepper spray readily available in case you are attacked.

If you have children with you please always hold their hands! This not only true for the holidays but anytime you walk through a busy area like a parking lot.

If some one suspicious says to you "Can I ask you a question?" or "Pardon me, do you know what time it is?" They probably don't want to know what time it is. Either move quickly to your car OR if you are closer to the store move quickly back into the store and tell the first available clerk about the person.

Always shop with a buddy. It's more fun that way anyways!

Try not to park in parking garages. These are easy targets for robbers. I cant go a day during the holiday season that I don't hear about someone being robbed in a parking garage. Lenox Mall in Atlanta I'm looking at you!

Remember that robbers love areas like elevators, revolving doors, crowded aisles and public transportation spots.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO CALL 911! That's what they are there for!

Personal protection isn't just about the products we sell or anyone else for that matter. It's about having an awareness of whose around you and where you are at all times! Self defense is becoming more and more popular these days and with the holidays here its time for you to take action as well. If you think you need a stun gun, taser or pepper spray give us a call. We can help put you into the right product for the right situation.

Be happy and safe this holiday season!
