One development of Playa del Carmen villas is located in the new community of El Cielo at the north end of Playa del Carmen. Besides offering walking access to the beach, the community is also located near to a number of the city's newest services a point which will be made even stronger with the completion of some new highway bridges.
The community's gated entrance connects directly to the Cancun-Playa del Carmen highway, and residents of the villas and other units will drive only a couple of minutes to get to the highway. Along this highway, and just off of it are a number of shopping options. While each major intersection, about 6 includes a traffic light, bypassing these intersections is currently having bridges built over them, with off- and on-ramps for each intersection as well.
When these bridges are complete, residents of the Playa del Carmen villas will have even faster driving times to any of the services just off the highway. These services include:
Grocery stores. At the third major intersection after the entrance, there is a large, discount super-store which is owned by Walmart, selling many of the same products. Driving just a few minutes back off the highway, there is also a new Walmart being constructed. With the bridges complete, residents will be able to bypass two of the intersections in a matter of minutes and arrive to either Walmart or the discount super-store. The total time will probably be less than 10 minutes.
Shopping mall. A short driving access from either of these two grocery stores there is a mall. There is also direct access from the next highway intersection, and it is less than 5 minutes back from the highway. The mall includes another large supermarket, a casino, movie theaters, plenty of small stores for clothes, shoes, jewelry, and furniture, and a food court with a decent selection of restaurants and cafes. With the bridges complete, driving time should be about 10 minutes.
Downtown. The center of Playa del Carmen's tourism, shopping, dining and nightlife is a pedestrian street called Fifth Avenue running parallel to the beach, about 9 small blocks down from the highway. About 4 of the major intersections lead both the beach, and Fifth Avenue along the way. This drive will likewise be only a bit more than 10 minutes, most of which will be spent downtown.
More shopping at the south end of Playa. Right around where the bridges end, there is a Sam's Club, another mall with similar options as the other one, another large Walmart-style supermarket, and a handful of restaurants. Since these are right on the highway, it will probably take less time to arrive here than to downtown.
If you are considering convenient driving access, than these Playa del Carmen villas could be the right choice for you.
