I have successfully managed to overclock from 1.67GHZ to 2.1GHZ stable with my Sempron 2400+ and an Abit NF7-S2 board.A safe speed would be as high as you can go while still stable, at the same time if your temps are cool (50-55C full CPU load) you are set to go.In the mean time you can get that CPU to at LEAST 2.2GHZ easily...here is my spec
I have a Sempron 2600+ (166x11) running at 200x11, Prime95 stable. WHen you say temps 50-55 full load; my temperatures vary very little from 53, whether its idle or full load, it doesn't seem to change that much.As far as the max temp of the cpu, I use 55 as a general guideline with my Sempron. The CPU may reach 55 for a "quick second" but normally peaks at 50-52.5C, so I reach for a max high of 49-50C. That would most likely serve your CPU well also. my Overclocking & Computer Modification
Me overclocked my pro. to sempron 2800 its at 2001 mhz and I have had it at about 2.3 but that's finikysp. How ever i just used the onboard bios features on my asrock k7vm3 motherboard. But i should tell if that is a socket 939 board you should be able to use the bios to overclock the cpu and furthermore that cpu kinda sucks again no offense. Specifically next to AMD ATHLON 64 3400+ Overclocked to 3GHZ which is much better than some jerk off P4 POS as it doesn't have the bus speed of the AMD series processors.
