subject: problem with Dell Cooling [print this page] problem with Dell Cooling problem with Dell Cooling
I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with a p4 3ghz processor and 775 socket compatablity. I have some problems with its fan, everytime I lauch any program the fan starts to give some sound and it blows at a high speed. So I think that the paste on the heatsink is almost over or it might be the fan issue. So can anyone tell me what is the best heatsink that I can use to replace the old ones. Thank you my Overclocking & Computer Modification

First can you tell us how high the dell temperature gets too. If the temperature reaches 65+ Celcius then you are on the high side of things. Consider cleaning the vents/fan areas. Best if you can reapply thermal compound.
