A Folding Dog Crate And Just How It Could Help

With all of the different dog crates available today, it can be difficult deciding on one. More and more trainers are agreed in that they are the best method for housebreaking your dog. It is never a good idea to give your canine free roam of the house, especially when you are away. I made this mistake with my two year old Lab when she was a puppy. When she was a puppy, I was so confident in how we had trained her I left her at home alone with our 11 year old dog for a day. We had to buy a new couch after that. The old one was scattered all over the house. A lesson well learned. Learn from my mistakes. I have, and now she is one of the best dogs I have ever had. Choosing a dog crate that will benefit your pet the most depends upon his size. Myself and others have written some blog posts and articles that address the size issue. The advantages of folding dog crates is one of the areas that I have not written much about. Folding dog crates are easily store, can be transported, and provide a safe home for your pet. They are an excellent choice if you like to take it different places. The most popular styles of folding crates are wire and soft crates. To my knowledge, plastic crates do not have the folding feature, but they offer the advantage of being airline approved. Both the wire and soft folding dog crates are very easy to set up and take down. Most can be set up or taken down in a matter or seconds with no tools necessary. It makes putting them in the closet, under the bed, or any other location you would like to store them a breeze. It is especially good for traveling in the car. For going to the park, or up in the mountains camping, I prefer taking a soft model that folds easily. For untrained pets, or pets unfamiliar with a crate, they are definitely not recommended. A pet that tries to get out, or a pet that chews, will definitely overpower even the toughest fabric. To clarify traveling in the car, I recommend your pet be inside a plastic crate for the actual car ride. Never let your pet have free roam of the car; this distracts the driver, and makes him a flying missile if you need to brake suddenly, and never a good idea to put a dog in the bed of a pickup truck. Once you arrive at your destination, a folding crate is a great choice, especially if you have to pack things in over a short or long distance. Folding dog crates are my favorite for home use, especially the wire ones. It provides plenty of ventilation and a secure home for your pet. It can be fancied up with some of the very nice crate covers and bumper sets, and even made into a beautiful end table or other piece of furniture with some of the great accessories out there. To assist you in deciding if a folding dog crate is the best for you and your pet, look at the products offered by the various manufacturers. With all of the options that are available you will be able to find one that is best suited to your needs.
