Audiobooks have been used for many years, ever since the days of cassettes tapes to enjoy fiction without having to take out extra time to read them. You may find you have extra time to fill in a day, during times like driving, doing the dishes, or during freetime in between working at your job and want something fun to fill the space.
The great thing about the Twilight Audiobook is you can catch up before watching the movie, or listen to it afterwards and get the full experience as the author wanted it. And, if you're like me and don't always have the time or patience to read a whole set of 4 books, you can just listen to them in your free time. I understood more about the stories when I listened to them as I tend to learn things better by hearing them. Everyone has a particular sense they are best attuned to learning with, mine is my auditory sense. I picked up all sorts of things I missed when I was just reading the series. I have a niece who loves the movies but didn't want to spare time for high school to read the series and the enjoyed listening to the twilight audiobook in her own time.
The narration also helps the story pace itself much better. The voice sets the tone for the story and notes how it changes in case you miss any cues in the book. I've actually loaned my copies out a few times and then got them back later to relisten to the series. Maybe I'm just a perpetual teenager, but I still enjoy listening to the series. I'd imagine the Twilight Audiobook would make a great gift for that reason alone.
