subject: Create The Perfect Online Dating Profile [print this page]

So youre now officially part of the online dating game. Congratulations! Youve officially joined the easiest non-traditional route (but with it being so popular now, it may just be considered traditional!) to a connection and possibly finding your perfect match.

Online dating has been around for a long time for one good reason: It works. But then again, it will work best if you do it right. For starters, theres that online profile that has to be taken care of. This is the first window of opportunity for you to make a connection.

Have you figured out how to write up an online dating profile that perfectly sums up your winning personality? And catches peoples attention, too? Here are some quick tips:

Make a memorable name: Random letters and numbers are not memorableor worth remembering. Try something creative and/or witty.

Dont be generic: When trying to describe your likes/dislikes, hobbies and interests, and other pertinent information about yourself, be descriptive, not generic. Go into details (but nothing too personalmore about this later), cite examples, etc. They must be able to draw a picture of you.

Sound positive, upbeat, dynamic. No one wants to connect with a person with a huge chip on his shoulder, a Drama Queen, or a sourpuss.

Stick to the facts: Its a horrible reality that some online dating sites have profiles that are accurateabout 10 years ago! People now stretch the truth or fabricate stories to make them seem more attractive. How sad is that? Dont be one of them: Be YOU. (And wouldnt it be better if a person connected with you because they found the real you attractive?)

Dont give out everything! It may be easy to get carried away and type away all the information you can think of about you and your life, but remember: This is online dating. As such, it can be viewed by otherand allonline members. And you cant be sure of how honest and/or trustworthy all these members are.

The last two points are actually very valid points to consider, especially at this time when internet crimes and malpractices are growing rampant. Though online dating is fun, if youre not careful, it can be risky.

An online dating service that looks after your security would be the ideal, best case scenario. Consider an online dating site that protects your identity and safety through intelligent features. An online profile thats open for public viewing courts risks, so how about an online dating profile that can only be viewed by a selected, invited few? Yes, YOU get to decide who gets to view your profile. No invitation, no access to viewing your profile. You can invite who you want to connect witheven those from other online dating sites. So no creepy creatures whose intentions youre not even sure of.

And ultimately, this is the way to go when creating a winning, attractive, and successful online dating profile: setting it up, writing it, and creating it in an online dating site that makes it easier for you to establish quality, enriching connections.
