Just about all humans have hemorrhoids in some fashion. It is only when they flare up, however, that we take note of them. And that is because they can cause extremely pain.
If you have bleeding in the rectal area, odds are that the bleeding is due to hemorrhoids. However, since you can't always accurately self diagnose, it is best to confirm your suspicion with a visit to your doctor. At the very least he will be able to rule out a more serious cause of the blood. In the worst case, he will be able to identify a serious illness while its still in its early stages and begin proper treatment.
The proper treatment for hemorrhoids depends on which era you are in. Throughout the centuries, a number of methods have been developed to deal with this condition - some successful, some very much unsuccessful. Today, however, there are so many methods of treating the condition that it can sometimes be difficult to choose which one to go with.
A Comparatively obscure process for getting rid of hemorrhoids is a procedure referred to as Sclerotherapy. Hemorrhoids are basically the same as varicose veins. It is just that they happen to occur in the bowel or anal area. Which makes it appropriate to use this method since Sclerotherapy is a common method of treating varicose veins.
The way it works is that the doctor injects a chemical solution directly into the varicose vein. Once inside the vein, the solvent causes the walls of the vein to break down and gradually dissolve. This process works exactly the same with hemorrhoids. The solution is injected directly into the hemorrhoid and in a few weeks, it has disappeared.
There are essentially four grades of hemorrhoids. The reason that hemorrhoids are graded is to allow doctors to choose the most suitable forms of treatment based on the seriousness of the hemorrhoid. Sclerotherapy cannot be used effectively for all grades, but it is very effective for grades one to three. Grades four or higher usually require some sort of surgical solution.
Sclerotherapy is a complex name but it is really a simple outpatient procedure. It is effective in more than 90% of cases where it has been used. When contrasted with hemorrhoid banding, banding usually comes out ahead in its effectiveness. But, according to patients, Sclerotherapy typically results in less pain for the patient. Either one, however, is a good treatment for those that want to avoid invasive surgical procedures. It is an extremely safe method which will stop the bleeding almost immediately. It also rarely results in complications.
Due to all of the above reasons, if you are having hemorrhoid trouble, Sclerotherapy should be placed on your list as a possible solution to your problem.
