The new Droid X is not even out yet, I believe they are taking pre-orders online, but you can't get them yet. It is possible though to get one free from Motorola and some other companies that advertise for them. Basically, they ask you for you zip code and email address and then you answer a few questions for them and bam, that's it, they send you free stuff, and in this case, a free Droid X.
There so much stuff out there online that you can get for free it is insane. The only thing it ends up costing you is the time it takes to fill out whatever the forms they want you to do. I have friends that eat in restaurants one to two times a week for free, all they have to do is fill out some surveys online and answer some questions after they are done. These are no new restaurants only either, places like Outback and Chili's most of the time. For these companies, it is basically just a free focus group for them. It is a way to improve there product.

This is the exact reason companies like Motorola are willing to give away a free Droid X to a lot of people. You just agree to answer qome questions for them and allow them to contact you by email for follow up questions and probably a few surveys as well. I would say it is worth it though to get a free phone that is pretty sweet to say the least.
That being said, there are always people out there trying to scam someone, so never give your credit card info or any money up front for these kinds of offers. If they ask you for any kind of money than it is a scam, Do Not get involved in this.
