I have seen this water analysis kit which is useful to test the water like a lay man in the CSIR Technofest 2010, showcased by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi, at India International Trade Fair during November 14-27, 2010 New Delhi, India. I understand that a technology is available for the "Portable Water Analysis Kit" which was developed by Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Post Box No. 80, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow - 226 001, India.
The role of water is very important in present day of life. As a first step, we should know the water and its analysis so that we are able to know the water purity and its contamination. If we know the contamination and then we can think of the removal those contaminated contents. For this we need a instrument to test the water.
Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow, has developed portable water analysis kit and mobile water testing laboratory which is equipped with generator, solar energy panel, battery system. This kit has facilities for physic-chemical and bacteriological analysis. The test kit is useful for quantitative measurements of fluoride, nitrate, nitrite, chloride, total alkalinity, total hardness, total dissolved salts, pH and faecal califorms. It is very simple in operation and maintenance with readymade reagents for 100 tests.
This water analysis kit is useful to carry and test anywhere. This can be taken to many places where the water to be tested easily. This is portable and easy to carry anywhere to test the water and its contamination.
I came to know that this technology has already been transferred to M/s Jain Scientific Glass Works, Ambala, India.
