There are several variations of AR stocks that are offered by Magpul. Since there are so many variations, you can really find exactly what you are looking for. And the best part about this is that Magpul is a very well established company that produces nothing but the best. Not to mention, their prices are incredibly low for the quality items that they are producing. The PRS Magpul stock is one of their more popular models. This stock was designed for the sniper or precision shooter. It features a fully adjustable length of pull and cheek height placement. These two features are key if you want to have complete control over the dimensions of your stock. The one thing that you can complain about with the PRS is the weight. It is a hefty little guy, weighting in at about 1.7 lbs. But, in the defense of this Magpul stock, it's designed to be used on a marksman's rifle, not an entry carbine. So, yes, it may not be the most maneuverable and lightweight option out there, but since when do precision marksman have mobile systems. They are all designed to be used from a support position. So, if you probably set up your gear, the pros of this stock far out weight the cons.
The PRS is also a pricey little son of a gun, having an MSRP of $255. You can find it cheaper at some other places. However, you'll never find a huge discount on any Magpul stuff. That's just the way that is goes. Anyway, there is an optional accessory for the PRS, that is the extended rubber butt-pad. This is basically a recoil pad. So, if you have a big bore AR, like a .30 for .50 Beowulf, you might be interested, but if you are just sticking with the 5.56, then just man up. And, of course, the recoil pad will ad to the length of pull which may or may not change your decision. My conclusion, you can't go wrong with a Magpul stock!
