BSNL towers in Srinagar shuts function in nights

Srinagar: Subscribers of BSNL, state's only public telecom company, have complained that its towers catering to the Umar Colony- A and B in Lal Bazar area, don't run during the night giving a plenty of problems to them.

"We couldn't make a call in the night as towers, all of a sudden, stop to function in the night. We made o many complaints but to no avail. The problems continue to be there," a BSNL subscriber from Umar Colony-B told Agence India Press.

"During the day there is no problem in network and at 8 in the evening the network stops to function till 8 in the morning. What if subscriber has to make an emergency call to make?" he asked.

He said that the telecom provider should address to the basic problems of its subscribers.

"BSNL is providing its subscribers with new facilities like IPTV but continue to address the basic problems like fault in the towers," he added.

General Manger, BSNL, Mahesh Shukla said that he will look into the matter.

"This thing hasn't been brought into my notice before. I will look into the problem. Problem will be sorted out in a day or two," Shukla said. (AIP)
