Defragment

Windows can also run slowly if it is suffering from problems with a fragmented hard drive. To resolve this you will need to run the defragmenter on your computer. This is included as part of Windows as standard. This should be run on a regular basis.

Uninstalling Applications

If there are any applications on your computer that you don't use then you should uninstall them. This will make it much easier to make your computer much faster to shut down.

Registry

Another thing that can cause Windows 7 slow shutdown is problems with windows registry. You will need to resolve this by using a registry scanner. Choose a registry scanner which can back up your computer to protect it from danger.
