subject: The Revamped 1 Series Bmw [print this page] BMW recently launched the stunning new 1 Series M Coupe, to coincide with this release BMW has also revamped the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible. The new model has undergone significant modifications and upgrades to keep it fresh and more efficient.
The new models have got a new front bumper with redesigned fog lights and redesigned Halogen headlights with an 'eyebrow' element. When ordered with Xenon headlights the eyebrow element features an LED illuminated light bar. At the rear of the revamped model the backlights have been changed to have a more detailed appearance.
The biggest and most significant change to the 1 Series comes in the form of an Aero Curtain, which helps achieve better aerodynamics. The Aero Curtain works by channelling the airflow around the front of the car to reduce aerodynamic drag, thereby increasing aero efficiency. Air is routed into two ducts in the front apron which then flows out of a narrow opening at high speed in the wheel arch.
The new models also have BMWs EfficientDynamic features such as, Auto Start-Stop, Diesel Particulate Filters, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, Intelligent Alternator Control and Optimum Shift Indicator. The new 1 Series 118d now has lower CO2 emission of 118g/km and the 2.0 litre petrol versions have CO2 emissions of 155g/km and lower.
The 1 Series coupe and convertible SE models now come with 16-inch alloy wheels, Dynamic Stability Control, Halogen headlights, MP3 playback capability and rear seat easy access system. The Sport models come as standard with 17-inch star-spoke alloy wheels, Sport multi-function leather steering wheel and front Sport seats.
The current 1 Series has proven to be a good seller as a used car in Aberdeenshire, the release of the new model should see more used 1 Series models at used car stockists.
