"If you develop the absolute sense of certainty that powerful beliefs provide, then you can get yourself to accomplish virtually anything, including those things that other people are certain are impossible." Anthony Robbins
Ask any able-bodied person if they would walk across a two feet wide and twenty foot long plank on the ground for a hundred dollars. Every one would probably say yes. Now, ask these same people if they would walk along that same plank for one hundred thousand dollars however, this time, the plank would be placed across the top of two buildings that are fifty stories high. You will have very few takers.
That is a dramatic example of what is possible with certainty and turned into a miserable failure when doubts creep in. With certainty, the mind goes on automatic mode and leads us on to the desired results. When doubts creep in, the mind starts consciously evaluating the pros and cons, the consequences of failure along with a multitude of unrelated and unimportant subject matters.
Certainty is like the scalpel of a skilled surgeon. It goes right through the heart of the matter then dissects its components into easily manageable parts. Once that this has been done, whatever follows become routine and easily feasible.
It could be said that the brain operates on one of two modes. The certainty mode where almost everything is done through natural instinct. That's the most precise and accurate way of accomplishing almost anything.
On the other hand, there is the apprehensive mode where everything is weighed, scrutinized and tentatively tried. Much less accurate and prone to have the hallmark of fear incrusted in the finished product. Quality requires the Master's touch and the Master's touch has no room for uncertainty.
Certainty usually springs from the core belief that says, "If I am committed enough and passionate enough, I can succeed at anything that I'm willing to try." That is one of the most powerful and empowering belief that a person can have.
That is the kind of belief that sustains the: Trump, Robbins, Schwarzenegger, Obama, Branson, Gates and all the mover/shakers of this world. There is nothing as powerful as the, "If I really want to do something, nothing can stop me." attitude and belief.
At one time in our life, we all had the belief that nothing could stop us. Sadly, for many of us, that belief has been crushed by failures and frustrations. Luckily, beliefs may be crushed but it does not mean that it is destroyed. It can always be restored, rekindled and revived.
A belief is nothing but a notion that is supported by evidences. With a little work, we can find enough evidences in our life that, when we truly put our mind to it, we can overcome and succeed. We can convince ourselves that the only limitations that we have are those that are self-imposed, that we are winners and that from now on; we won't be chained by false and disempowering beliefs.
Certainty is the winner's edge. It's the best antidote against fear, the catalyst that ferments spontaneity and creativity and the key that opens the door to great achievement and success. It is also a belief. A belief that may have been lost but can always be regained with some self-talk and autosuggestion.
Only with certainty can we be all that we can be; only with certainty can we walk where the angels would not go and do the things that most people would not even dare to attempt. Certainty is the winner's edge and the wings of the Eagle.
