Apple Releasing New iPad and More

Creating something each year that is newer and better than the last is the name of the game in technology. For Apple, the release of the iPad was huge, but that has been almost a whole year ago, so now Apple will release its new iPad2. The iPad2 should hit the market by early next year, with its unveiling in January.

So what could possibly be different with the new iPad? There are many rumors, so one will have to wait and see, but as for the rumors it is suggested that the iPad2 will include FaceTime technology. The iPad will have cameras on both the back and front so that they can use FaceTime to contact friends or family through a Wi-Fi connection something similar to Skype, except those you contact must have an iPhone 4, iPod Touch or Mac Computer.

The iPad2 may also be lighter in weight. Apple is using carbon fiber panels and thinner glass to reduce the weight of their devices. The iPad2 will also include Apples new Retina Display Technology. What is this? For the iPhone it has meant an LCD that boasts a super high pixel density by squeezing a 960-by-640-pixel resolution into 3.5. Retina Display technology also has an improved contrast ratio. The contrast ratio is often four times that of other models.

The iPad2 will also include 3-axis gyroscopes, which could mean the ability to play a whole set of new games. There will also be a USB port included on the new iPad2 as people have complained that the original iPad didn't include one. The iPad2 will have a Cortex-A9 chip CPU, and more memory. Some websites are also predicting the iPad2 will have a 7-inch model to bridge the gap between the iPhone/iPod touch and the current large iPad screen. As for the price of this new unit, Apple is keeping this a secret.

Other new releases with Apple include the new MacBook Pro. The new Macbook Pro could come with a complete redesign and include features released in the new MacBook Air.

Rumor is that the new MacBook Pro will include up to 512GB. This will be a significant change from the minor changes Apple has given the MacBook Pro over the years. What else will be different? They are talking about removing the optical drive from the Pro machine and adding SSD and light peak technology.

Light Peak is a new technology that can transfer huge chunks of data quickly, like 10 Gbps both up and down. Apple and Intel have been working together in developing Light Peak and the release of it would be exclusive to Apple. Intel has already been talking about Light Peak and its ability to scale to 100GBs within the next 10 years. Some are saying this new technology will be the replacement of USB 3.0.

Last, the new MacBook Pro is expected to be released with a new version of Final Cut Pro.

The new MacBook Pro hasn't changed in regards to its high price. The new release is said to be priced around $1,999.
