Are Oil Burners Still Around?
Are Oil Burners Still Around?

Oil fire heating equipment has been used for almost 100 years now. There are various types of oil burners that people use including warm air furnaces, water heaters, hydronic boilers, and steam boilers. These different types of oil burners all have the basic function of providing a heat source. Most oil fire heating equipment has the same fundamental operation of how they work. There are also ways to properly inspect them and find out if you need heating repair services.

First of all electricity is needed to power the oil burner. There is usually an emergency off-switch as well for boilers and furnaces. Once the electric power button is switched on electricity will then be linked through a safety control starting the electric motor. Using the primary controller, electrical power will then flow to the electric motor which will begin the rotation of the motor shaft. The shaft will begin turning horizontally though the inside of the oil burner's motor. This motor is paired to a rotating squirrel cage fan, which provides the combustion air. It is also coupled with the oil pump or fuel unit. If this motor is not working properly heating repair will be needed.
