First decide on the wallet design, size and shape. Collect all the requirements depending upon it. Never run for a material in between the manufacturing process. Have everything handy.

Preparing the leather for making the wallet is of utmost importance. Clean the leather after soaking it well. Once it is cleaned properly, dry it in the sunlight. The leather has to be completely dry before you start cutting it.

Decide on what type of leather wallet you wish to make. Cut the leather accordingly. If it is a bi-fold wallet cut two pieces of equal size and if it is tri-fold then cut into 3 equal pieces.

Now cut smaller pieces of leather into make the inside pouches for holding cards and others items. Decide upon how many pouches you need and cut accordingly. Do the same for coin and ID pouches.

Now using the hole puncher, punch hole wherever the thread is meant to be stitched. After that, use the thick thread and sewing machine to stitch the pieces together. Make sure to place each piece carefully in the right place. Using waxed thread is recommended. Once you reach the end of a piece, tie a knot and then cut off the excess thread carefully.

Apply a thin coat of olive oil or canola oil on the outer surface of the leather wallet. It gives the leather nourishment and makes it shiny. Doing this process once in a while can keep the wallet in good condition.
