Communication with your downline is very important in network marketing. Your downline is the lifeline to your business. Communicating with the very people who will build your business is essential.
In today's world there are so many options for keeping in touch with and communicating with your downline. I'd like to share some communication ideas with you:
1. Create either a message board or a yahoo group. Both of these allow you to post regular messages and keep your team updated. It's also a wonderful way for you to be able to speak to your entire group all at the same time. Information such as how to place an order or where to call for help can be stored. What I've done in the past is to create a favorite links sheet that I can give to new distributors. This favorite links sheet has the basics such as how to place an order and how to hold a fundraiser.
2. Use a blog to offer information on company incentives and training. You can start a free blog and then have the option of allowing public access to the blog or you can limit access to only those in your downline.
3. Create an account on a social network. You can use Facebook, MySpace or Twitter. Create the account for downline access only. You can then share information on a very regular basis through the messaging system or even through a group on Facebook where you control the membership.
4. Put together a newsletter. My own upline sends out a once a week newsletter with both company information and also group recognition.
With all three of the above methods of communication, you are emulating something that is free of charge to do. As your own team grows and they begin to branch out, they too can start a free message group or create a free account on a social network. I would absolutely encourage your team to stick with your group until such time they feel they are ready to branch out completely. Once they do branch out, it's my suggestion that you remain a member of any group they create.
I'm also a fan of conference calling. There are several conference call systems out there. Some are free and others charge a fee. You can use conference calling to share new company information, to offer group training and even to host prospective distributor question and answer sessions.
As I mentioned at the beginning, communication is key in building and developing a team. Take
