subject: The Brilliant Htc 7 Mozart Featuring An 8 Mega Pixel Camera [print this page] Of the brands that have joined Microsoft from launch day of the Windows 7 platform, HTC have been the busiest by producing 4 models with new ones just around the corner. One of these models is the 7 Mozart, a smaller than average phone yet one that still boasts a high end set of features.
The display on the HTC 7 Mozart is perfect for displaying the bold and colourful interface that is provided by Windows 7. The phone itself can display a massive 16 million colours, which combined with the 480 x 800 resolution results in great clarity on all material that is viewed. The display itself uses LCD screen tchnology rather tan AMOLED, but upon using the phone this does not seem much of a problem, the 3.7 inch screen performs well even in sunlight and the extra depth of the screen only adds on a millimetre or so depth over its rivals. This depth of 11.9mm is still very slimline, and together with the other dimensions of 119 x 60.2 completes a compact overall package. Inside the phone a powerful chipset keeps everything running at lightning speed, meaning the user need not experience serious lags on any area of the phone. At 1Ghz, the processor is fast and is joined by 512MB of RAM and 576MB of ROM. The unit however does not feature a micro SD card slot, meaning the 8GB of memory can be quickly used up by anybody loading the phone with all manner of media files.
Where as some models focus much attention on their screen, the HTC 7 Mozart approach things from a different angle and uses its camera facility as its trump card. A look across the current range of Windows 7 phones available and the cameras are all fairly standard at a good quality 5 mega pixels. The Mozart eclipses these by offering an 8 million pixel camera, and the improvement in results is evident. There is no optical zoom on the model but there is a digital version should you require to get a little nearer your subject. Autofocus, Xenon flash and face detection are also included in the package, which also features various scene and effects modes. The camera can also shoot video footage, but rather than the typical VGA quality the phone equals the standard offered by the still shot facility by recording in High Definition. Audio playback is also well covered, with a stereo headphone jack and an FM tuner as part of the package.
The HTC 7 Mozart is the perfect handset for anybody tempted by the new operating system, but put off by the general size of most of the models on offer. The lack of size is compensated by an above average set of other features.
