The construction industry in Indonesia posted 9.2% growth in 2009; supported by the government stimulus measures as a response to the global economic downturn. The government offered a stimulus package of worth US$7,500 million in the 2009 budget for infrastructure spending and an additional US$703 million for labor-intensive infrastructure projects. The government investments in reconstruction after the tsunami in 2004 and support via stimulus packages during recession enabled Indonesia to record a CAGR of 9.32% during the review period. With continued investments across various markets, the industry is expected to report a higher CAGR of 11.73% over the forecast period.
