information overload on the Net.
General work overload was already a worry of industrial sociologists.
On the burgeoning Net, the type of documents being leaked undermines
the attention sought by public-affairs whistle-blowers. As such it leaves
the status quo of our unipolar world, in Empire hands.
Here's a lawyers' saying: "Possession is 9/10ths of the law."
Many civic and business systems now rely on the Net. The Empire, defusing dissent without breaking down the Net, will continue promoting its own agenda. We will see more of US Federal Reserve wise men or populist decoys such as Fox TV's Glen Beck and Sarah Palin.
To take Sarah Palin in illustration, on February 7, 2010 she nudged President Obama by saying that if he came on strong and declared war on Iran, Obama would have the chance of being re-elected President.
Currently Palin has disclosed to us that she had a canned presentation ready some hours after the 250,000 cables data dump. She had emerged immediately afterwards on cue to blame the Obama administration for Wikileaks disclosures. Her canned presentation "forgot" that the cables leaked include those of the Bush administration (somewhere into 1996. )

JUDY WOODRUFF: How easy would it be to seed this to make sure that it was slanted a certain way?
ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI: Seeding - seeding it is very easy. I have no doubt that WikiLeaks is getting a lot of the stuff from sort of relatively unimportant sources, like the one that perhaps is identified on the air. But it may be getting stuff at the same time from interested intelligence parties who want to manipulate the process and achieve certain very specific objectives.
Editor's note: Brzezinski's assertion is that "chickenfeed," things off the news, low level "junk" intel is being "seeded" by an intelligence service to serve an agenda with "very specific objectives." Can anything be more clear?
