If your article becomes popular on Digg (by people clicking the "digg" button), the article can appear on the homepage of the category. Even if it does not become popular, your article will most likely be visited by a couple of people. Eventually a couple of people can turn into dozens or hundreds of people. Make sure you have a way for people to subscribe to your blog or website!
3. EzineArticles: Write an article for EzineArticles and include the link to your blog or website.
4. Facebook- Share a link to your article or blog post on your Facebook.
5. Twitter- I'm still trying to get the hang of Twitter. It seems like every celebrity or news agency uses Twitter. It seems to be an effective way to promote your blog.
6. MySpace- It may seem like MySpace is not very popular in your circle anymore. However, it is still one of the most popular websites out there. Submit your articles on MySpace just like you would on Facebook.
7. A social networking plugin- An easy way to share your article is to install a plugin that promotes your blog. Most articles I read on the internet have a share icon under the article. This gives your readers an easy way to promote your blog or post if they like what they read. I submit my articles to Digg by clicking the Digg icon under my blog post. It is much easier this way.
8. Reddit- Another popular website to submit articles.
9. Stumble Upon- A similar to Digg and allows users to become friends with each other and share articles.
10. delicious- Another article submission site.
11. Linkedin- Surprised that you could use this site to promote you blog? Many people post a link to their blog, website, or business to their Linkedin profile.
12. Craigslist- I've heard of people posting a link to their blog on a section of Craigslist that is related to their blog.
13. Posting on forums- Do you belong to a group on the web? Do you post on any message boards? I belong to several "mommy" boards. Post a link to your blog in your signature. Promote your blog when a topic comes up that is related to your blog or website.
