subject: Lisa Lampanelli Tickets - Queen Of Mean [print this page]

A full-fledged member of the elite boys' club of comedy, Lisa Lampanelli has been hailed "a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who'll steal the show every time" by none other than shock jock and comedian Howard Stern. What more do you need to know about this Tonight Show and Comedy Central regular? Well, Lampanelli is currently on tour in support of her very first tell-all book titled Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks, which arrived in shelves this September. Look out for Lisa Lampanelli tickets to see her live.

Lampanelli really began climbing the comedy rungs in 2002, when she was the only female comedian invited to Comedy Central's roast of Chevy Chase. Stints on BET's Comic View (where she was among the handful of white performers) and Comedy Central roasts for William Shatner and Pamela Anderson followed, cementing Lampanelli' status as a true broad among the male-dominated comedy world for her willingness to say things that others may think but choose to keep to themselves. In fact, Lampanelli takes pride in her brashness, recently telling The Washington Post, "I call myself an insult comic. I take no pride in being called a comedian. I like 'insult comic' because nobody can [bleeping] do it."

In 2005, Lampanelli appeared on Comedy Central's "Last Laugh 2005" as well as her very own one-hour special called "Take It Like a Man." The hilarious special was released in CD and DVD form under the same name and earned high placement on the comedy charts. Lampanelli continued to deliver her raunchy brand of comedy with specials for VH1, CMT and MTV, and her second one-hour special "Dirty Girl" aired on Comedy Central in 2007. A DVD and CD of the taping climbed to the No. 4 spot on the comedy charts and was even nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album of the Year in 2007.

Lisa Lampanelli was the first-ever female Roastmaster at the Comedy Central Roast of Larry the Cable Guy earlier this year, and she added another first to her impressive comedic resume when she starred in her first-ever one-hour HBO comedy special, "Long Live the Queen." Also in 2009, Lampanelli's first book, Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks, was released this September, and if you couldn't guess it from the title, the book discusses the outspoken comedian's fondness for dating African American men, among other things! According to The Washington Post, rumor has it that HBO is developing a series with Lampanelli, and she may be co-writing a little something for Broadway, as well.

Described by Comedy Central as "a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker and a vial of estrogen," Lisa Lampanelli lives up to her title as the "Queen of Mean" - and then some! The 47-year-old comic who has spawned comparisons to fellow potty-mouth female comedian Sarah Silverman has also managed to sell out two of the nation's most celebrated venues, Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall, and she is sure to pack venues across the nation while on tour.
