subject: Reception Area Office Furniture For Comfort [print this page]

Having a relaxed and comfortable place for your clients when they first arrive is very important. That is why choosing the best reception area office furniture you can afford is always the wisest choice. Since the lobby, or reception area, is what lets clients get a feel for your company and the business you provide, you need to take care to choose only pieces that will evoke feelings of well being, no matter the type of business you are in.

The reception desk itself is particularly important as it provides an anchor for the rest of the room. Whether it is minimal in appearance, or more along the lines of a grand piece of furniture, it reflects how well your business is doing more than anything else.

Having comfortable chairs for your clients to sit in while waiting are also very important. Make sure they go well with your decor. Take the time to sit in them for a while yourself. If you client has an average wait time of fifteen minutes, sit in them for that long.

Make sure that they aren't too deep and that they have large enough seats to accommodate a variety of body shapes and sizes. Also, ensure they are solidly built. A chair that feels as though it may collapse is not going to be comfortable for anyone to sit it. Fabric upholstery is far more comfortable than leather or vinyl; however the latter are much easier to clean if something gets spilled on them.

Don't forget to provide a few tables with the chairs. These are not only handy to keep magazines and other reading materials on, but they are nice for clients who prefer not to put their belongings on another chair or the floor. If you are going to provide beverages to clients, tables are a must to set their cups upon rather than having to hold them the entire time.

Busy clients may prefer having a counter or table with chairs where they can continue to work while waiting. Enough room for a laptop computer and possibly access to an electrical jack can be a nice way to accommodate them.

Reception area office furniture is as important as the business itself. If your clients are not happy and comfortable while waiting to see you, they may not stick around if there should be a longer than usual wait. Help your business keep growing by seating your customers in a welcoming environment.
