Best University Scholarship for Students From Developing Countries

Every year hundred's of students apply for scholarship and financial aid, and careful research has shown that the number of scholarship applicants every year, is increasing steadily in a geometric progression, making the scholarship more competitive and difficult.

A very easy scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students is the Turkish Government scholarship, aimed at providing complete scholarship package for students from developing countries, the scholarship is a complete scholarship which will cover for the students' entire expenses while studying in Turkey, the scholarship will cover for-Tuition fees, dorm fees and medical treatment expenditures (excluding long term illnesses, serious surgical operations, prosthesis, jaw orthopedics, orthodontics and teeth prosthesis) are paid by the Turkish Government.

The application process is straight forward and the basic criteria, is that the student must not be a citizen of Turkey, and must be a citizen from any African or Asian country, The Turkish Government Scholarship application is opened once in every year between March-June, and the need for early submission of application cannot be over emphasized, as they receive hundred's of application, therefore early applications are considered first.

The basic eligibility requirements are as follows-

Applicants should not be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey or hold a dual nationality (Turkish and any other country nationality).

Undergraduate candidates should have a good level of a high school graduation degree. The high school which was graduated from should be equivalent to the high schools in Turkey. Candidates should not have suspended education more than 2 years after graduation and not be older than 25 years on the date of application.

Candidates for graduate studies (Master/PhD) should be a graduate of a 4-year university and not be older than 40 years on the date of application.

Research candidates should be a graduate of a 4-year university and have a good level of Turkish, English or French.

Candidates for the Turkish Language Summer Courses should be a university student or a graduate student.

Candidates should not be infected with a contagious disease (HIV, Hepatitis-C and etc) or should not have a disease prevent his/her education in Turkey.

If all the requirements above are met, then becoming successful in gaining a Turkish Government scholarship is almost guaranteed. Successful applicants are notified through, diplomatic channel. I.e. Turkish embassy in the respective country of resident of the student.

Scholarships for African students are offered mainly based on their social standings. It is normally offered to students from backward class and poor families, the Turkish government scholarship is just one of those opportunities open for students from Africa and indeed developing nations to achieve a university education.
