Does My Real Estate Agent Have Their Own Website

Perhaps a bit of an odd question. But is it important that my agent have their own website? Not only is the answer yes, but it's imperative to where they should have a website that can help sell your home. First of all, we're not on the dawn of the internet age, we're knee deep in it and it's become a part of our lives. With each year that passes, the percentage of home buyers and sellers that begin their research on the web increases, and we're not talking about fifty percent, we're talking about eighty to ninety-five percent, depending on the age group.

With regard to Fairfax homes, we have an enormous amount of people relocating to Northern Virginia every month, because of the size of the federal government, the enormous technology center, it's location to the beach and mountains, and a way of life that makes this area so strong. When those selling within Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William, and Loudoun counties, or home buyers around the country go on the internet to research homes, they use Google as their primary search engine. Yahoo is used second most. Wouldn't it be nice to have an agent whose website is on page one or two for the most searched phrase for home buyers? Yes it would. Why? Let me answer that with the following facts.

Appearing on page one for a major search phrase yields hundreds of leads per month for those looking to buy a home in that area. Those leads come through the website owned by your agent. He or she is typically the only one working with these buyers. For those that become qualified buyers, which homes will certainly be on the list of homes to view for their new buyers? Yours. Do you think that your listing agent will do everything he or she can to bring their own buyers to your home? Absolutely.

I have many leads from home buyers looking in Arlington, Fairfax, Reston, Great Falls, Vienna, Falls Church, Centreville, Chantilly and the outlying areas. Every one of my buyers sees my listings. I know that home better than any other agent and can sell it better than any other agent.

Having a website is necessary on two levels. First, it shows an agent who meets the minimum requirements of technical savvy and that of being serious about the business of real estate. Second, and more importantly, it tests whether he or she can use their presence on the internet to help sell your house.
