The Sports Network provides the world's sports content, in the palm of your hand

THE SOURCE FOR SPORTS CONTENT

If you've ever searched online for the scores from Sunday afternoon football, or read the stats sheets from your favorite news website, then chances are very good that The Sports Network has supplied the content or you have gone to their site at www.sportsnetwork.com. In fact, TSN provides content to major newspapers, television and radio networks around the globe and, soon, to your mobile phone. That's because The Sports Network has established a partnership with mobile services provider, Contec. "The Internet, as good as it is, as marvelous as it is, is not the (medium) of the future, mobile is," said Mickey Charles. "(and) Contec are supremely suited to address the mobile environment."

ITS GOOD TO BE MOBILE!

Contec is delivering TSN's content through mobile technology, to the carriers and value-added service providers, who then package and market that to their mobile users. TSN has begun its move in providing mobile content into Asian markets, with an initial focus on soccer. Charles, however, doesn't want to limit TSN's coverage, "More sports, like NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, tennis, golf, NASCAR, Formula One, Olympics will be dictated by the market demands and interest.Because of our scope and size we are prepared to cover anything asked of us globally." TSN also has plans to move its mobile content solutions, in concert with Contec, into African and European markets.

Additionally, there is growing demand for mobile fantasy sports games and content, especially in Asian markets. The Sports Network's expertise in Fantasy Sports content coverage, along with its mobile initiatives underway, makes them uniquely poised to combine the two services.

FROM THE DUGOUT TO YOUR INBOX

Providing sports content to a vast array of clients around the globe requires TSN to customize its data delivery. One way to do this is by allowing the customers to be provided with a literal plethora of information in XML format. By so doing, XML format via http push/pull, ftp and web services or a combination of both allows clients to take that data and conveniently apply it to their own web solution. For live mobile content services, Contec renders TSN's data to suit over 4,000 mobile devices, integrates and seamlessly delivers those sports services to mobile sports fans. provides the method by which TSN's data travels, by which it is delivered. The Sports Network's services also include "branding" for customers, a process in which they lead the industry and allows for a more "tailored" approach to sports content delivery to clients, one where the client provides a template and, in return, over 25,000 pages of sports content are furnished with The Sports Network doing all the work and the content being housed on its servers. There is the obvious fee but the client retains all of the ad revenue it garners from placemen of ads on those pages allowing them to self-liquidate costs to TSN while establishing a positive revenue flow in the process.

"It is a most welcome process for our clients," added Mr. Charles, "and we do not put our hands in their pockets asking for a share of that ad revenue, as others have done, others that attempt to emulate our technology." . In any case, from a mobile perspective, this allows mobile carriers to customize, process and market real-time sports data provided by The Sports Network.
