One Role of Artificial Trees
One Role of Artificial Trees

The creation of artificial trees was something that was inevitable; it was just a matter of time. After all, if man could create babies in test tubes, which is a far more complex process, how difficult could making fake trees be? Well perhaps it is not fair to compare a real, live human baby to an fake tree but some of these artificial trees do seem lifelike, for want of a better word. If you were not told they were artificial, or unless you inspected them very closely, you would never guess they were not real.

Having a small tree in a room, such as an office, makes a huge difference to its decor and ambiance. Depending however on a few factors, having a real tree in an office may be a bad idea. One such factor is the location of where the tree will be placed. Take the case of an office which is situated underground, trees need sunlight to survive and with only artificial lighting available a tree in such an environment is most certainly being handed a death sentence. The care for a real tree may also prove too much for some individuals, unless one is fairly knowledgeable on the subject and has time on their hands. With artificial trees after they are placed they can practically be forgotten and left to do what they do best, which is beautify space.

There is regular demand for trees all year round but this demand sees a huge spike when it comes on to one special time of the year. That time of year is around Christmas time. Many people the world over celebrate the tradition of Christmas and a part of that tradition involves having a Christmas tree in the house for the duration of the Christmas season. Families take pleasure in decorating their Christmas trees and gifts for various family members are usually placed beneath the trees to be opened with much fanfare Christmas morning. These days however, real Christmas trees may be omitted from the picture and their place taken by artificial trees for a variety of reasons.

One of the reasons for this is that trees normally used as Christmas trees may not be available in some places. Another reason may be that the price for real trees when compared to that for artificial trees makes the purchase impractical. It may be also that persons believe the artificial trees actually look better than real trees. The artificial trees are perfectly symmetrical and people can get the exact size and shape they want. There is also the disadvantage associated with a real tree of it not being able to be used for more than one Christmas. With artificial trees they can be used over and over again and packed away and brought out again yearly. Some of these artificial trees even come pre-wired which takes the fun, or hassle, out of decorating your tree depending on your particular situation.

While artificial trees can never truly replace real trees they do have a role to play in the scheme of things and have carved out a niche for themselves. After all, real trees produce oxygen, without which human beings couldn't survive. Artificial trees can't do that, at least not yet.
