Samsung LN32C530 HDTV: Thoughts of a New Buyer

Having acquired theSamsung LN32C530 HDTV a few weeks ago, I was thinking I might write about my initial opinions in regards to the good and bad points of the unit .I have generally been happy with my experience of the Samsung LN32C530 aside from a few niggles more to do with my own taste than any shortcomings with this fabulous television.

Advantages The picture is wonderful, my buddies own Vizios from 2008 ranging from 26 up to 46 and in contrast, they appear darker and unsaturated when compared to to this unit from Samsung. 720p/1080i or down-graded 1080p is visually exceptional, the image quality at 1366768 would seem sharper, brighter and more vibrant than other lower cost 32 inch 1080p units I have come across. You only notice jagged-edge pixels if you view the television from fewer than a couple of feet away. Which, with a TV this size, is going to be much too close. I sit six feet away. Edges are consistent, OTA Hd with loop antenna appears flawless. Upconverted 480p subject matter looks exceptional for it's format. The number of selections to play with are excellent. But, even so, this particular Tv looked fabulous on default settings. TheSamsung LN32C530 HDTV also provides a wide range of sound controls e . g . Clear voice and movie modules. Furthermore, the speakers are hidden and loud, I set it to 6-7 volume (out of 50) with the Playstation 3, 8-10 when watching TV. The Samsung LN32C530 HDTV has very good sound quality for it's wattage.

Drawbacks- 8ms refresh rate, many might not notice but, going from a CRT (SD) to an LCD (HD), it's expected. In games it isn't evident but, when viewing things like scrolling text it is noticeable, but, this could be associated with the tv being 60 hz. 1080p content itself looks brilliant , when displayed at 1366768. Obviously, this can be a subjective matter. At 6 feet , 1080p and 1080i/720p look alike using a 32. But, to be able to future- proof yourself, buy the SamsungLN32C530.

Lastly, with regard to peripherals, the stand is okay but, you have to make sure the screws are tight as far as they can go to make it stable.
