subject: How Can I Make Up With My Ex? Learn How To Apologize Effectively [print this page]

Life can sometimes be unfair especially when it comes to relationships. We are never fully prepared for a break up, we feel like our hearts have been ripped out and stomped on, and all you can think of day and night is "how can I make up with my ex." The good news is that time heals all wounds, and people get back together everyday, and so can you, and do not allow anyone to tell you any differently. If you happened to do something to your ex that requires forgiveness, you must apologize sincerely to them. They can see straight through an apology that is not from the heart. Without forgiveness, your life will continue to spiral out of control, and you will be living in the past. Did you know that lack of forgiveness interferes with your ability to feel truly loved? When you let go of negative feelings, you allow that hole in your heart to heal. Asking for forgiveness will allow things to change in the relationship permanently. If you really want to know how can I make up with my ex, forgiving them for something that they have done is also in line. This shows them how much you love them. Did you know that without forgiveness you hold on to anger and anger is a decision to suffer? Why would anyone want to do that to themselves? When they do apologize to you, always accept an apology with an open mind and heart. For an apology to be effective, you have to know what you are apologizing for. Instead of just saying "I'm sorry" it is better to say something like "I am sorry for yelling at you." Be exact on what you are apologizing for, and admitting to them why you were wrong shows them that you are sensitive to their feelings, and it shows how sincere you are about making things right. Do not "share the blame" either. An example of this would be "I'm sorry that I cheated on you, but..." This is not an apology at all, and keep in mind that when you say "but" it erases everything you said before the "but." What that boils down to, is that you did not apologize. Whether the apology is coming from you or your ex, it will have more meaning if done in person. If that is not possible, remember to accept or give the apology with an open mind and heart and allow love to come back to in your life.
