I recently wrote this article about some 3 disadvantages of solar energy and it seems the article is getting more response than my other articles. It means a lot of people are interested in knowing the disadvantages of solar energy. I have decided to fulfill this need of theirs and I will be writing about more disadvantages of solar energy in this article.
Not all that glitter is gold and there is nothing with advantages that has no disadvantages. Solar energy is a great form of energy, no doubt, but it is also very important for us to consider its drawbacks before deciding on what to go with. This article will be revealing 3 more disadvantages of solar energy.
1. It is Location Dependent
One major disadvantage of solar energy is that it is location dependent and that makes it less effective in some areas or completely useless in some. For example, if we decide to install a solar generator in a very hot region, like Sudan, we will be able to get great results and we will get our return on investment in no time, however, if we decide to install a solar generator in a very cold region like the Antarctica this will lead to total failure and zero results. In other words, the solar energy can't be used by everybody - your country is an important factor for using it.
2. It is Weather Dependent
Apart from being completely location dependent another major disadvantage of solar energy is that it is weather dependent. Take for example, the major factor towards the effectiveness of the solar generator is the sunlight and once there is an inadequacy of this it will lead to ineffectiveness in the part of your generator. You will be able to enjoy your solar generator in periods of hot sunlight but you won't be able to enjoy it in periods of total cold.
3. Installation is Highly Expensive
Another major disadvantage of solar energy is that installing a solar generator can be highly expensive making it difficult for all and sundry to use the solar energy. A solar generator consists of solar panels which can even take up a very large space during installation in order to be effective, the result of this is having to buy more land and solar panels and this can be too expensive for the average individual.
Conclusion
All in all solar energy is a great and powerful form of energy but it is also very important if you can weigh its advantages with its disadvantages before you take action.
