Do you know how to maximize your replacement tool battery performance? In here, There are 5 steps to take to insure that you get maximum performance from the power tools batteries:

First Step: Breaking In New Rechargeable power tools batteries such as makita batteries - new batteries come in a discharged condition and must be fully charged before use. It is recommended that you fully charge and discharge the new Makita power tool battery 2 to 4 times to allow it to reach its maximum rated capacity.

Second Step: Preventing the Memory Effect to power tools battery - Keep your power tools battery healthy through fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every 2 to 3 weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the Memory Effect.

Third Step: Keep Your power tools batteries clean - That's a good idea to clean dirty replacement power tool battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the power tool battery and your portable device.

Fourth Step: Exercise Your power tools Battery - Don't leave your battery dormant for long periods of time. It is recommended that you use the power tool battery once every 2 to 3 weeks at least. If a battery hasn't been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.

Fifth Step: Battery Storage - If you don't plan on using the Makita, Dewalt, Bosch, Panasonic power tools battery for a month or more, it is recommended that you store your battery in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. Ni-Cd, Ni-MH and Li-Ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to break them in before use.
