What Do Carbohydrates Do For Your Body

Carbohydrates play a crucial part in the way our body functions, it basically provides the energy our body needs to run on in doing everyday activities from the simple things like walking, to more complex stuff like exercise routines and weight lifting. Carbohydrates are also responsible for the much unwanted weight many of us want to get rid of.

Carbohydrates are found in fruits, vegetables, dairy products and grains. It can also be found in meat in the form of fat. In it's simple form you can find carbohydrates in refined sugars and candy. In it's complex form you can find carbohydrates in brown rice, whole wheat and grain foods.

The main principle behind cutting carbohydrates in any person's diet to achieve weight loss is this; carbohydrates, once broken down into the bloodstream, is converted into sugar which prompts our body to produce insulin which, in turn, drives these sugars to our cells to be used for energy. Now since the idea for weight loss is to burn our body's stored fat, then we need to make sure there is minimal amount of sugar stored in our body. This way we know that our body is expending energy from stored fat, making weight loss more effective.
