Liz, a close friend planned to spend her 25th birthday differently. She was asked by her father to plan it a month ahead but she didn't bother doing the preparations. Some friends offered to help but she declined those offers for they were lavish and all wanted to invite the who's who in the community and the business circle where her father is the president.
Thinking that no one seemed to be of great help, she planned not to celebrate her birthday at all. She hated spending much for the occasion and inviting just everyone to introduce her to the crowd to be the successor of their conglomerate.
Not until a couple of days just before her birthday, she went to the church for a visit that she was able to talk with a group of nuns who happen to run the orphanage in town. She was truly delighted and her face reflected it as if she won the lottery! Our friends' minds were boggling. We never knew what she was thinking then for she never shared with us too. Perhaps she thought of buying expensive gift sets for herself. We went home and there we saw an even brighter glow in her face. We dared not to ask her of the reason why she acted strangely after the conversation with the nuns.
Then came her 25th birthday and all of our closest friends prepared gift sets of sorts and greeted her on the eve of her natal day. We rang her and some who lived near her place sang birthday songs for her and gave her some gift sets. She all invited us thought but I thought that was quite a late invitation. No one knew that she would still be celebrating.
We were more surprised when all of us learned that the venue was the orphanage. So that was the reason why she looked so glad the day she met those nuns. All of us were stunned by the kind of party she had. Her family was even more surprised than the rest of the people were.
After the dinner, the kids surprised her with huge gift sets. It looked like someone was inside and when she opened those gift sets, there were other boxes of gift sets inside but they don't reveal the contents yet. Until the last regular-sized gift sets showed, an inspirational book and a bible with card written by the kids.
