Jose Maria Olazabal is to play his first event of the year when he contests in this weekend's French Open.
The two-time US Open champion has been sidelined with rheumatic shoulder pain(golf wholesale).
But the 44-year-old insists he is well enough to play.
"I cannot say I'm feeling good or 100% pain-free but there has been some improvement in the last couple of months," he said.
"I haven't been able to practise like one should."
The Spaniard's career (Taylormade Burner SuperFast Driver)has been littered with injuries and illnesses. He suffered from rheumatoid arthritis in the 90s and he revealed a cure for his latest ailment has not been found.
"I've been in a lot of pain," added the former Ryder Cup vice-captain.
"When you struggle to lift a glass of water, it's quite severe.
"I've seen a bunch of doctors(golf wholesale), been all over the place but they really can't pinpoint what is causing it."
