Friday was meant to be only a swim (2 x 400m sets with 5mins rest), but I also through in a kettle bell session for good measure. Saturday is a rest day that I gladly took and then Sunday a 4mile run (8min miles). This would mean the run would have to be completed in around 32mins. Currently my road time is 37mins, so for this reason I have decided to run this on the treadmill, to ensure I come in under time. The following weeks I kept to the same training, but after a PT session decided that I had to work on my leg strength as my quads were always giving up on me. So I added squats to my training programme, doing these on a Sunday and Thursday. I have also added dead lifts to my programme, as I have noticed my lower back isn't as strong as I would like. More recently the PT sessions have been more strength work then running, which is good, as I have always struggled with knowing what weights, reps and exercises to do and for that reason haven't seen the results I would have expected.
I have been in a dip at the moment with training and finding it hard to motivate myself. However, I have still been able to motivate myself, using a simple method completing the training plan. If I do what the plan says and still hit problems with the phys I can't blame myself and instead can get a new plan adjusted to me.
