Stop Smoking With Smoking Cessation Products
by Coach Quit
Hey there, it's Coach Quit here to speak with my friends who are interested in discussing ideas that interest and amuse us in the world of smoking. Today i want to digress a bit and talk about the words, "smoking cessation". They seem innocuous enough, but why do we use them? It's not the normal folk that uses this, is it? I have never heard anyone say for instance something like this...."Hey buddy, can I bum a smoke? I have been meaning to start my smoking cessation program, but I just haven't got around to it." Smoking cessation means to stop smoking, so, that is what everyone really says. Who are these people that use the term "smoking cessation" anyway?
I want everyone here to come back here and leave a post the NEXT TIME you hear anyone, (well I don't mean like people on TV, they don't count)...I mean in your REAL LIFE tell me when someone tells someone else they Need to cessate their smoking habit. Ok? Can you do that for me? Because this term is outrageous really. I think whoever started this trend, has got to live in an "Ivory Tower", or just not really be connected to modern life and how people really speak. Just say QUIT SMOKING, or STOP SMOKING! That gets the job done. So I will be looking for your little Tweety Bits back here on the Coach Quit site, so we can tabulate this gross over complication of the real term "Quit Smoking."
Now that I think about it, maybe I do start to see why this term might be used a lot today. The pharmaceutical companies, that by itself answers a lot of questions by itself. The advertisers and big "pharma" as they are known, know something. If they take ANY product and desensitize it, they can sell it, even on national TV!
So, why does the term smoking cessation exist? I think the pharmaceutical industry created products to help smokers "quit smoking", but it doesn't sound like an expensive problem to fix when you say it that way. But, if you say, now Mrs. Jones we have the correct prescription for your smoking cessation needs. It is....etc etc. See? Now it makes sense this is gonna cost you hundreds, and if you don't quit then, you can always get another prescription for your smoking cessation problem, right? I think so!
Chantix was created by a company that knew that Cytisine was touted to have smoking cessation effects. But, you can't patent something in nature. so the next best thing is to take nature and bend the chemical equations enough that you have a unique product that can be patented. Then you can charge anything you want for it. So why do people get psychological problems with Chantix? I would say it could be related to the fact that Cytisine itself is in a family of drugs that can and do offer hallucinogenic properties.. So Chantix is a smoking cessation drug, ah got it now!
